“Walk Beside Me” with Éabha McMahon’s contralto voice

“Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.” by Albert Camus, French philosopher

Listening to Éabha McMahon’s contralto voice, I want to cry with “Walk Beside Me” (Live In Concert From The Round Room At The Mansion House, Dublin, Ireland).  Éabha (pronounced AY-va) is with The Celtic Woman ensemble in this recording.  Quote: “… song was written by Mutt Lange.  Based on a quote by Albert Camus, French philosopher “Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.””

Lyrics quote from Lyrics of Walk Beside Me

“Walk Beside Me”

A child begins with one single step
Then walks a million miles
And though these wings are not ready yet
I will try to fly

My eyes can’t see
My arms can’t reach
I need strength when I’m weak
I need your faith in me

Don’t walk in front of me
I was not born to follow
Don’t walk behind me
We were all born to lead
Don’t walk without me
I might need you tomorrow

Walk right beside me
Be the real friend I need

If you take small stones, one at a time
You will move that whole mountain
If you climb each rainbow, its gold that you’ll find
And shelter from the rain

My ears can’t hear
My heart can’t feel
I need strength when I’m weak
I need your faith in me

Don’t walk in front of me
I was not born to follow
Don’t walk behind me
We were all born to lead
Don’t walk without me
I might need you tomorrow

Walk right beside me
Be the real friend I need

(Practice Zen)

I believe that my school of Buddhism (Fo Guang Shan) might mainly evolve from Zen (Zen)).  I haven’t really wanted to sit down (to meditate) and practice Zen.  I read an article in traditional Chinese, 參禪五心, and find it gives me a practical way of practicing Zen. I quote the entire article here.

Short quote:
